What to expect:

“Our programme aims to educate and embody the spine, through organic movement and release. There is emphasis on breath, and spinal integration. This workshop is gentle, and available to all, offering practical tools to support a healthy posture, whilst working with slow movement through releasing, softening, and strengthening with awareness”

Through Katies own experience of Scoliosis, the last 20 years of her practice has dedicated countless hours of professional and personal studies, to Yoga for Backcare. Katie specialises in various conditions of the spine, and the resulting effects on the body and nervous system as a whole.

Katies practices are aimed initially at the education of mindful awareness, and onto  releasing tension, which she feels is paramount after experiencing any type of trauma or working with sensation (including working specifically with fascia).

The next step is to safely create space in the mind and body, with a sense of ease and trust,  to begin to build strength, stability, flexibility and resilience, with a new found confidence and awareness.

Katie’s experience has lead her to create and tailor her own bespoke programme for back care, which she has taught through her private work and online globally to a variety of specialised cases.

What level?

Yoga for Backcare is available for everyone as we will use props to ensure a level of comfort during the practice. However, it is essential to ask any questions or discuss injuries or concerns when booking.

What do I need?

Everyone will need a  large rolled up bath towel. If you have a bolster you are free to bring as we will use it as addition to the towel.

If you have a yoga strap/block/eye pillow  you will also use this, but it is optional.
