Super Drained

✋This week, I’ve felt super drained! Could be the weather, lack of sleep with the children, 👉 Or simply put, I’ve just been giving out a LOT recently. In many different ways.

So this week I’ve dedicated my ‘free’ time practicing yoga nidra ❤️, studying some new aspects of yoga & the nervous system which inspires me immensely 📖 , and basically just giving in when I can 😴.

🛑 How and when?!

The feeling of empowerment, when you learn to recognise when you BEGIN to feel a little depleted… is Powerful!

… In a world that glorifies BUSY and our ability to ‘have’ and ‘do’ it all, to know when you can’t give it your all; And then to then be kind to yourself,  in a society which encourages you to keep going, to keep pushing forward 🥺 IS ALOT.

But .. it’s a big BUT – when you learn to tune in, you can begin to really RELY on YOURSELF and your signs, trusting to notice when to pause ⏸️ early enough, before you crash!

The important bit: Is to show up for yourself ~ when you need it the most ☺️, to take the responsibility to care for yourself!

Essentially it’s a big part of the human experience, But taking responsibility for the care of ourselves (unfortunately,  no one can really fix us, really) seems to be for many (including myself years ago) something we struggle with the most!!! We know that right?! When we are truly honest with ourselves ❤️

Learning to pull back in a manageable way, to keep your important commitments (where possible) that’s a big one, to keep your other values ticking, but to pause in the in-betweens is learnt art form. To take time to reflect on what’s working, and quite frankly ~ what’s not, is the only way you can continue to be the best version of yourself.

I’ve learnt, it’s often your mind and your thoughts  caught on a frantic cycle making you tired, not your body and nervous system – just trying to keep up 🤯

And for many of us, as I learnt the hard way 15 years ago, the Awful reality of burnout (which is when we refuse to pause, to feel, takes a LONG recovery). Something I notice so many are living on the edge of, constantly battling overwhelm.

Over the years through practice and balance ⚖️ I’ve learnt to recognise my energy levels, what and who energises and inspires me, and what depletes me. And make uncomfortable at times, changes to implement this knowledge.

By recognising where I’m at, my nervous system included, stopping long before I’m forced to, it allows me to be fully present when teaching, whilst continuing to feel excited through learning, and to be the most gentle, kindest version of me. It’s a reason I gave up regular classes, it feels the right time for me to focus on aspects I’m so passionate and well studied in. But also a recognition with a young family, where my energy is best applied, while still managing to pay the bills.

Our retreats, workshops, corporate immersions and wellness days inspire different ways to ultimately slow down, to recognise your patterns of thoughts and behaviours, and ultimately learn be kind to yourself, and continue to enjoy life, through the joy of your work or outside passions, where we need a good level of energy and momentum.

We visit suggestions and themes, work through various different practices available to all. If this feels like something useful in this super busy world 🌍 You can subscribe to our mailing list HERE;
