Yoga Nidra with Katie

Currently, I am in the time of my life, where there are not enough hours in the day.

Two children under 5, the administration and running of two/three businesses, this one, including an online Yoga store, and my husband Sanjivs Gardening and Wellbeing Company, for who I am also a director.  On top of running a household, being a good friend, mum, wife, family member ..  The list goes on.

How do I keep the plates spinning? Some days I have no Idea. Some days I don’t think I do.  Fortunately, I do LOVE my work, and I appreciate this makes a huge difference. I also love my kids, I’m sure a tiny bit more if they actually slept.

But for now, I remind myself daily, that this pace of life will not always be there, that the children will grow up, and to enjoy them while they are little (as we did for 3 months in India), even when Aditya is crawling, and throwing the cat bowls behind him, as many times as he can. On what seems like repeat.

SO, how do I cope?

Firstly, I have to be VERY strict in carving ‘me time’ and sticking to it. No changes or flexibility to this schedule. It’s what keeps me sane, breathing, and able to find the light in each day, even when a few plates stop spinning!

It’s been a game changer to find and implement manageable daily rituals, such as my nightly salt or essential oils bath. My late morning herbal tea, just to sit. My commitment in traffic jams and traffic lights to practice breathwork, Or my 10 minute Yoga Nidra before the nursery pick ups.

I also commit to ad hoc Immersions, Workshops and Short Retreats with my teachers, and I block these out (well in advance) in the diary (and Sanjivs so he has the children). It’s an absolutely essential process, enabling me to be a loving mum, wife, friend, and the long list of current responsibilities; and that’s why I do my best to share these classes and workshops with you, a little of my coping mechanism, for wherever you are in your life, in the hope you also find some lightness.

My wish for you, is that you can start carving a little time for you too, bringing you some time to see and find the light of life, it can rush past us all far too quickly if we don’t.

With much love and gratitude for being you! You are enough! Even more than that, you are doing a fabulously!
