Introducing my Best Teacher

Welcoming our beautiful daughter Amaya Lilly Kalagi!

We are so pleased and blessed to announce the arrival of our youngest yogi and greatest teacher!

Amaya was born on the 9th of November at 11.25pm.
A happy, hungry (!) and healthy little girl.

Amaya ‘Maya’ has many meanings such as “illusion” or “magic” in Indian philosophy. In ancient Vedic literature, Māyā literally implies extraordinary power and wisdom. Amaya can also be translated to ‘night rain’ ~ and she was born on the night of a storm!

So far the motherhood journey is treating me well, it is by far (as many said it would be) my greatest teachings of practice, surrender & compassion, mixed in with a lot of self compassion and much more.

Amongst the inevitable tiredness, and what feels at times constant feeding, my yoga (off the mat) has been invaluable. It had been a while since I had needed to recall how much the mind loves to play games, flashing forward and backwards in a state of projection and rehearsal, picking it’s most vulnerable sleep deprived moments to shift the balance.

Once again I have been beyond grateful to my practice of Yoga. Allowing me to recognise and label the thoughts as they appear, and create the much needed space of reasoning, comfort, and rest in between them.

Much love and thanks for all your kind words and continued support – the Kalagi Family x
